4. Upload the application and plans Select the appropriate permit type and upload the required PDF files directly into the LAMA portal.
5. Monitor the Village review Review updates, comments and requests for additional information through the applicant’s online account.
6. Pay fees and obtain the permit Permit fees may be collected at application or issuance. Do not begin permitted construction until approval has been issued.
7. Print and post the permit The permit must be printed and displayed at the property where it can be viewed from the public way.
8. Schedule required inspections Use the LAMA portal to request inspections at the required stages of work and after project completion.

Construction Inspections

The property owner or owner’s representative is responsible for requesting each required inspection when a stage of work is complete and before the next stage begins.

Work that has been covered or concealed before inspection may need to be uncovered so the Village can verify compliance. After all work and site restoration are complete, a final inspection should be requested.

8:00–11:00 a.m.
12:00–3:00 p.m.

Plumbing Inspections Monday, Wednesday and Friday
12:00–4:00 p.m.

Request Deadline Requests made after 2:00 p.m. cannot normally be scheduled for the next business day.

Same-day inspections are not available, and the requested date or time is not guaranteed until confirmation is issued.

Grading, Drainage and Site Restoration

Exterior projects may require drainage plans, site-development plans, stormwater certification, final grading documentation or tree-preservation measures.

Refundable deposits may be collected to cover damage to public property. Deposits may be refunded after final inspections are approved and the Village confirms that the site and public property have been properly restored.
